The plan is to have their name on one side and menu choices on the other. This would mean that the menu choices would have to be printed upside-down (or rotated through 180 degrees).
Is this possible in MS Word 2007? Not as far as I could tell.
When you put in a text box you can change the text direction by 90 or 270 degrees, but not by 180 degrees!
Changing the text into a picture and then rotating the picture would work, but I wanted to run this as a mail merge exercise, so that wasn''t an option.
Eventually I gave up with MS Word and went for Excel.
With Excel you can only rotate the text by 90 degrees, so I rotated the name one way and the menu choices the other way. Now if I put the paper through the printer sideways it should work.
Didn''t take long! I was going to ask if anyone knew of a better way of doing this, but on Monday I came to the office and tried the same in MS Word 2010. It seems that you can now rotate text boxes, so all my problems have been solved.
I guess a lot of Microsoft customers got married between 2007 and 2010.
