This course gets you started in using the Quantum tabulation package. It covers the features necessary for building the majority of axes, and introduces the basics for report and force editing.

Trainees must have had basic Quantum training and used the package for at least 3 months in a production environment.
Synopsis
This course builds on the Introduction to Quantum, adding a wide range of new and useful features, especially the more powerful edit instructions for data handling.
The course consists of several modules lasting 2 days but you can select specific modules for a one day course.

This one day course is intended to introduce market research data processing professionals (specwriters) to SPSS syntax, focussing on the data manipulation facilities. By understanding the power of SPSS syntax users will be able to save time conducting routine tasks, and communicate knowledgably with their clients. The course does not aim to cover the statistical features of SPSS.

Target audience
The course will suit people who have a need to work with SPSS files, both receiving them for processing and delivering them to clients. Delegates should have a reasonable experience of data processing in order to understand the relevance of the training.

Overview
SPSS can be a data input format, and is often a standard deliverable on DP projects. Clients are becoming more demanding in their expectations for good quality deliverables, often specifying detailed formats to match their in-house requirements. Many specwriters have a cursory knowledge of SPSS and can easily move data between SPSS and their processing package of choice. However, SPSS syntax is very powerful and many operations can be conducted within SPSS without recourse to an alternative package, frequently saving time and money. SPSS syntax can be saved and re-executed in a similar fashion to standard DP programs, allowing users to track and repeat operations. This course will give the specwriter the confidence to use SPSS for data manipulation, provide the output clients need, and communicate effectively with SPSS users.
