Introduction to Quantum
Duration: 2 days
Pre-requisites
Use of editor to build text files. Familiarity with operating system (Unix or DOS). Understanding of MR column/code/card data structures.
Synopsis
Ths course gets you started in using the Quantum tabulation package. It covers the features necessary for building the majority of axes, and introduces the basics for report and force editing.

Data structures
Analysis of the main data types using col, val and fld
Building logical expressions for the edit and tabs
More complex axis construction - the n statements
Include files
Report and force editing, online data correction

Quantum - The Next Steps
Duration: 1-2 days
Pre-requisites
Trainees must have had basic Quantum training and used the package for at least 3 months in a production environment
Synopsis
This course builds on the Introduction to Quantum, adding a wide range of new and useful features, especially the more powerful edit instructions for data handling
The course consists of several modules lasting 2 days but you can select specific modules for a one day course.

Nets and sorting
Weighting
Write and report
Fetch and merge
Field and bit
Row and table manipulation
Composite tables using und, sid and add

Quantum Levels
Duration: 1 day
Pre-requisites
This course is technically demanding. We recommend that trainees have been using Quantum confidently for at least 6 months and are familiar with data structures.
Synopsis
This course covers the types of hierarchical/trailer data structures and then shows how these can be analysed using the Quantum levels facility.
