It’s been a very busy 2018 for us at Cobalt Sky, one that has seen a lot of change. Not least, we’ve welcomed some new faces in Charis and Raksha, our two new graduates who are proving fantastic additions to the team. We also look forward to Steve Chapman joining our DP department in January. We’ve been lucky enough to work on some really interesting projects this year and would like to give a huge thank you to all our clients for continuing to bring us such fabulous research briefs.
Some of you have may noticed that our annual ‘DP Party’ was absent from the social calendar this December. We’ve been running the party for many years now, However, like Glastonbury, we are simply having a “fallow year“, to give the land, the local population and the organisers a break! Please don’t worry though data heads – we have every intention of bringing this back next year if there is enough interest. Please do get in touch if you’d like to see the return of this event next year so that we can gauge numbers.
In terms of the industry, 2019 currently looks like it could be a rather uncertain year for the economy, so we’re all just waiting to see how that shakes out. I’ve seen quite a few predictions on what the “big trends” in Market Research will be in 2019 (mainly automation, automation and more automation). Personally, the thing that I’m most excited about next year is how much more accessible I think previously inaccessible research techniques will become on an affordable budget. Things like eye tracking, video uploads, emotion analysis, automated coding and implicit testing will become more affordable and easy to integrate into standard online quant surveys. Which (if I’m right), will be great news for us and our clients, and something that we’re looking forward to getting our teeth into next year.
Speaking of next year, 2019 is a special one for us at Cobalt Sky. Along with the World Wide Web, The Simpsons, and the Game Boy – Cobalt Sky are turning 30 next year (I know, we look good for it). We have every intention of celebrating this in style, so watch this space for more news on that.
Again, a huge thanks to all our clients, partners and suppliers for all your support throughout the year. From me personally, I would also like to say thanks to everyone here who makes up our incredible team for all your continued hard work. We hope you all have restive and festive Christmas holiday, and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
