The Cobalt Sky team were thrilled to attend the MRS “Oppies” last week, and see the vast array of talented companies on display. The 5th iteration of the awards saw a change in location, to the exotically named “Beach Blanket Babylon” in Shoreditch (a venue that seemed to go down well). But with this night, as with most awards events, the venue is really rather irrelevant – it’s the people filling it that are important. It’s always a great opportunity to catch up with friends and peers, and to celebrate the amazing work that the operational element of our industry are undertaking day-in, day-out.
It was an expertly organised event by the MRS team as usual, and our thanks to them all. We were particularly thrilled with the incredibly well deserved win for Best Data Collection (Telephone) by QRS – a company that we work closely with, so we know first-hand just how well justified this is by the wonderful team over there!
Cobalt Sky were up against some strong opposition in both the categories that we were shortlisted for. You can’t win them all as they say; and if we have to lose out, it’s gratifying to lose to such worthy competition. Massive congratulations to Alligator and Northstar Research who won the always hotly contested best data collection (online) award. As a company who has been heavily involved in gamification of surveys for many years it was great to see the work they are doing in this area being rewarded. Our online data collection team have been shortlisted in this category every single year, and knowing how fierce the competition in this area is, we are all delighted that the team are consistently recognised as being amongst the absolute best in the industry.
As for the Operational Excellence award – we also offer our congratulations to IRI on obviously doing a great job over the past 12 months. It’s great to see the importance of close collaboration between research and operations teams being recognised. This is a category very close to our hearts – as operational excellence is the pillar of everything we do at Cobalt Sky. In the 5 years that we have entered this award we have a record of; Win (2014), Highly Commended (2015), Win (2016), Win (2017), and now Highly Commended again in 2018.
We’ve had a rather transitional year here at Cobalt Sky, and with lots of changes going on the recognition from the MRS that we are continuing to offer an outstanding level of service to our clients is genuinely worth as much as a win itself. So thanks to the MRS for the recognition, and a massive thanks from me to all the teams here for the amazing work that you continue to do. And again, huge congratulations to everyone involved in the awards in any way, be it finalists, highly commended or winners. Exciting times are ahead for our industry, and Cobalt Sky are proud to be a part of it along with you all.
